GAZA, (PIC)-- A Palestinian infant died on Tuesday in the Gaza Strip because his family was not allowed to admit him for treatment in hospitals in the territories occupied in 1948, bringing the death toll in the siege on Gaza to 374.

Dr. Muawiya Hassanein, director general of emergency services, said in a statement to the Palestinian Information Center that Muhammad Akram Khader (7 months) suffered from swelling of the brain and required treatment outside Gaza given the absence of some medical capabilities under siege.

Hassanein said that Israeli occupation forces prevented the infant's family from traveling which led to his death, bringing the death toll to 374.He stressed that hundreds of patients are at risk of death because of restrictions of travel to receive treatment.
